HistoryDavid Morris is an architect and lecturer in the architecture program the School of Art, Architecture and Design at the University of South Australia. He joined the School in 1988 following five years in his own practice as an architect and builder. His research and teaching interests include the development and application of prefabricated construction systems and autonomous servicing technologies appropriate for remote locations. He has a keen interest in teaching students through the design and construction of real projects. Projects in which he has worked with students include: University of South Australia research and teaching facilities at Kanmantoo, South Australia; the Visitor’s Centre at Wheal Hughes Mine, Moonta, South Australia; a visitor’s centre and gallery for the Patjarr Aboriginal Community in the Gibson Desert in Western Australia; Mt Franklin Visitors Shelter, Namadgi National Park, ACT, and single men’s quarters for the Mimili Aboriginal Community in the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Lands in South Australia.
