HistoryThe Town Planning Institute of South Australia (TPISA) formed in April 1948 at the behest of the South Australian Institute of Architects. Engineer and surveyor William Veale was its first president and a number of architects were members. The TPISA was superseded by the Royal Australian Institute of Planning (RAPI) (South Australian Division) in 1950. RAPI became the Australian Institute of Planning in 2000.
