Andrews, Brian
HistoryBrian Andrews was born at Jamestown, South Australia in 1938. He attended the University of Adelaide, from which he graduated in 1961 with an Honours degree in Electrical Engineering. A lifelong interest in architectural history crystallised in the early 1970s into an in depth investigation of the nature and scope of the Gothic Revival in Australia. In 1982 Brian was invited to read a paper on the Gothic Revival in South Australian church architecture at a seminar on South Australian religious history convened by the Flinders University History Discipline. Arising from this work came an invitation to curate the University's exhibition, "Gothic in South Australian Churches".
