Description | Contains material related to a heritage survey on the Upper Onkaparinga Valley, South Australia, for the Onkaparinga Council. The Upper Onkaparinga Valley is an area of the Adelaide Hills which, as well as being settled by German immigrants, had a large Scottish enclave during its first twenty years of settlement. It was one of the first parts of the state of South Australia to be settled outside of the metropolitan area (eg. Balhannah, 1839 and Lobethal, 1842). The Survey was to include that part of the District Council of Onkaparinga not previously surveyed by the Lobethal Heritage Survey (1982) and the Lobethal Heritage Survey (Part 2). The Centre for Settlement Studies tended for and got the job of carrying out this Onkaparinga District heritage survey from 30/6/1982 to 30/6/1983.
Includes various publications, maps, original notes, photographs, manuscripts, field notes, and illustrations.
Includes 29 SubSeries.
