Strathalbyn Architectural History: A Student Project
DescriptionContains material related to the career of architect, academic, and architectural historian, Donald Leslie Johnson. Includes material related to a project on Strathalbyn architectural history, undertaken by students studying Architectural Research Methodology in the Fine Arts Discipline, Social Sciences Dept, at Flinders University, under the supervision of Donald L. Johnson. Students were divided into four groups: Helen Bennet, Patricia Brady, and Diedre McKeown, for study of the Bartell residence at 10 Coronation Rd, Strathalbyn; Don Kenyon, and Christine Smerdon, for study of 'Watervilla' or the Hooper residence at Strathalbyn; Cheryl Watson, who studied Verandahs in Strathalbyn; and Ann Pickhaver, and Alan Feeney, for study of the Police Station and Court House at Strathalbyn. Students collected aerial photographs, maps, plans, photographs, drawings, newspaper clippings, title deeds and old published material on the subject under study.
